Mutti’s Pride

2005 Cabernet Sauvignon, Sacrashe Vineyard

2006 Mutti’s Pride

We source from only a handful of the highest quality Cabernet Sauvignon growers in the Napa Valley, and Cabernet Sauvignon, Mutti’s Pride is a blend of our top two vineyard sites from the vintage selected by our winemaker Gerhard Reisacher after two years of barrel aging. The result is a gorgeous wine that flaunts intense complexity, unyielding character and a vivacious finish. With that kind of pedigree, how could you resist?!

This wine was named after Elisabeth, winemaker Gerhard Reisacher’s mother, who visits from Austria every harvest and is proud to watch her son carry on the family’s winemaking tradition. Friends know Elisabeth as Mutti (pronounced moo- tee), which is Austrian for mom.

About Elisabeth “Mutti” Reisacher

Mutti arrives in California during the month of September. Her three month visit to Napa includes spending time with her family, attending tours at the winery, cooking Austrian-style feasts, and baking her famous sweets.

In August of 2007, the Delectus family bottled its first vintage of Mutti’s Pride, keeping it a secret from her. Two weeks later, the Reisachers, Mutti included, and three family friends sat down to a delicious Sunday meal and surprised her with the wine. There was not a dry eye at the table.

Mutti always has a smile on her face and a kind word to say. The moment she leaves for Austria, she is sorely missed and the Delectus family begins the countdown for her return the following year.
