2002 Dog-Gone Good

Flash finally did it! With the persistence of the “canine fan club,” Flash celebrated his 10th birthday having his first wine bottled. The new addition to our line up features a different package, complete with an oil portrait of him by great friend (and customer) Sally Rae of St. Helena. Although we purposely sought to bring a fun touch to this product, the wine is a serious blend of our Merlot (62%), Cabernet Sauvignon (35%), and Syrah / Petite Sirah (3%).

Winemaker notes: The nose features candied cherry, blueberry, licorice, nutmeg, and earthy undertones. Plush mouth of dark plum stew flavors with a smooth velvety finish. (06/07)

2003 Dog In Style

This wine is an exquisite blend of 51% Merlot, 29% Cabernet, 14% Petite Sirah, and 6% Syrah. Like its predecessor, the 2002 Dog-Gone Good, this wine impresses us with its intricacy and finesse. The label features a playful photo of Flash soaking up rays in his high-fashion sunglasses amidst a field of red clover...

BUY: 2003 Dog-In Style ~ $24

Winemaker notes: Aromas of Cointreau, cedar, sandalwood, and black olive with high tones of boysenberry. The mouth features cinnamon, citrus oil and orange rind, ripe plum flavors; the palate is condensed at the core with a polished finish. (06/07)

2004 Dirty Old Dog

Flash’s third vintage is once again a Merlot-driven blend, his favorite varietal. Unfortunately, this is the last vintage of the Dog Series as Flash passed away in August 2006. The label features Flash cooling off after a long run on the Delectus Ranch by rolling in mud. The blend is Merlot (82%), Cabernet Sauvignon (11%), and Petite Sirah (7%).
